Web Site Traffic Analytics

If you have a web site, you are probably wondering about the overall traffic to your web site. Such as how much traffic does your site really get? Where is the traffic coming from? How do visitors actually find your site? The important question now is what should you do or how do you even begin to address these issues? A thorough web site traffic analysis can answer these questions and also provide valuable insight into the traffic to your site.

Web site analytics may be correctly defined as the measurement, collection, analysis, and reporting of internet data for purposes of understanding and optimizing web usage. The actual profit your site generates might be the best indicator that explains whether your strategy is working. However, we all know that your profit alone is not enough of an accurate measurement. Although it is the sale that really matters to an online business or any business for that matter, there is much more happening between the marketing of a product and the final sale that we need to consider. Generally, most web site marketing campaigns today not only measure web traffic, but are also used for business and market research as well as attempting to assess and improve the effectiveness of a web site.

Web analytics can provide information about the number of visitors to your site, the amount of time visitors spend on your site, the number of times the internal landing pages are visited, how deep visitors go into your site, which landing pages encourage visitors to make a purchase, and a number of other issues on which you might want to concentrate. This is where web site traffic analysis comes in. The statistics found when performing a web site analysis are vital to making sure that the strategies employed currently are relevant and effective.

The online marketing campaign also acts as a web traffic estimator that provides important data, especially if you want to get figures before and after launching a specific marketing campaign. It measures how many people visit from another site (or their journey towards your site, also known as off-site analytics) and your visitors journey within your site (on-site analytics). These are two important data measurements you will need if you are testing each marketing strategy.

Many web analytic services can provide a very comprehensive list of reports and present you with a wide range of data regarding many different areas and aspects of your web site. Employing a web analytics service to perform an analysis of your web site and obtain valuable information may be an excellent option even though the cost may seem expensive and unnecessary.

There are also a number of web site traffic tools you can use to accumulate this data by yourself. Alexa, Yahoo Web Analytics, and Google Analytics are the most popular. These providers offer fairly comprehensive web analytics solutions. Remember, you must have the time and desire to perform these tasks yourself and some expertise in evaluating all the data. With the aid of any of these web sites, you will learn how to expand and move forward with your business.

Your Guide to Making a Successful Web Presence

There are many ways through which you can perform a task and almost everybody knows how to do it. But still some are able to do it successfully while others fail even in the beginning. The reason for this is simple. There is always a technique to do the right things at the right time. Similarly, everybody knows about search engine optimization but yet not everybody is able to implement it properly because they lack the expertise to implement the right techniques.

Let us start with the basics of promoting your website which is by writing the content of your website in such a way that it is rich in preferred keywords. Now there are many tricks used to make your webpage for optimal indexing. But the idea is not to trick the people, but to give them something concrete in the end. You do not want the visitor to find you on a search engine and then go back disappointed. So rather than just stressing on a higher ranking, also make sure your website has all the elements to hold the customer and make a sale as your job does not end with a high SEO rank.

Now let's talk about achieving a higher rank in search engine. This process starts with writing a descriptive keywords rich title omitting the fillers like the, an, and etc followed by inclusion of your business name in the title itself. The summary or description should be written in META tag at the top of a webpage using the main keywords and key-phrases on the page. Another smart trick is to use your keywords in headers as well. Using keywords in H1, H2, and H3 tags sends subtle hints to the search engine.

First impression is always the last impression. You don't expect your buyers to go through the whole crap you provide about yourself. So make an impact in the very first paragraph. Position your keywords in the very first paragraph of the text body but the idea lies in doing it smartly. Obviously you do not want to look as if you have artificially stuffed these keywords making it look all the more plastic and overdone. Remember to make optimum use of images and include your keywords in image tags also while also using keywords in hyperlinks.

Search engines are bad at reading JavaScript and Flash. So add regular HTML links at the bottom which will ensure that a chain of hyperlinks is there which will enable the search engine to navigate from your main page to other pages as well. You can also create a site map page which has all the links to your important pages which makes the search engines to identify them easily.

You can also develop different webpages which focus on each of the keyword you identify for your business. Many software available in the market enables you to check and compare your current rankings with your competitors. So stick to the trial and error method and keep on making appropriate changes. Apart from the content, you can also optimize your videos and images as many times Google also displays the relevant videos along with other content.

The next part involves linking strategies which are used to link your site from other sites to drive additional traffic. This can be done by submitting your site to key directories like yahoo directory, trade organization sites and specialized directories. Companies also issue news releases on newsworthy events on their website. These links remain in online news databases for many months giving a temporary push in bringing traffic.

Of late, social media has gained a lot of momentum in helping you bring traffic to your website. There are also many strategies based on the optimum use of social media to promote your website. You can start with a business blog which is hosted on your own domain. Informative content and active presence make it all the more likely for people to link it with their website increasing your site's page rank in the process. When we are living in a world of social media interaction, it is very important for you to become a part of the online social community. Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn, stumble upon are all excellent platforms to discuss issues and likes-dislikes about various products. A link to your website is provided in your profile which gives you added visibility. Another social media advantage is to discuss your issues in online forums and participating in discussions.

In addition, there are old and tested formulas to promote your website which cannot be ignored. It can be done through cards, pamphlets, company literature, email newsletters, email signatures etc. There are various paid methods also which covers the advertising part. People also use the technique of viral marketing wherein something unique and strange is used to create the buzz in the online circles. This buzz can be passed over by friends through emails and social media updates. The more buzz it generates, the more publicity you get for your product that too at virtually no cost. Various online contests are also organized for drawing the people towards your website. In lieu of a handful of freebies, you get hands on exposure on the online platform.

The list is endless but you just need to find the right technique which suits you the best. However, all this is not as easy as it seems. It involves a lot of efforts and expertise on your part. Therefore there are many IT companies which provide all these services to you at very cost-effective prices. Hence it is always advisable to outsource your SEO requirements and reap the advantages of the web world.

Important Search Engine Optimization Ranking Factors to Keep in Mind

The unrelenting rise of search marketing as the premier marketing method for the smallest business, to the largest conglomerate, has launched the technique of search engine optimization into prominence. The web makes such a great place to run a marketing campaign because of the low barriers to entry (when compared to older offline methods like television commercials and billboards), as well as the potentially global reach at minimal cost.

Search engine optimization consists of using methods that take advantage of the search engine - primarily, Google - algorithm, such that the robots which crawl the pages of your website use them to rank you higher in the search engine results pages (SERPs), which automatically means more traffic and more money, if you're running a business. The methods for doing this correctly are by no means equal; once you've rectified the strength of your onsite optimization factor, it's time to turn your attention to Off-page contributors.

The underlying theme of Off-page search engine optimization is link-building. For long-term success, it is recommended that you focus on authoritative sites only, with well-written and highly-regarded content.
Perusing other websites; especially those within your niche, is a good way to find blogs on which to leave an engaging comment, with your anchor-text hyperlink embedded in the provided fields or text box. Stick to expert sites and stay out of bad link neighborhoods with hundreds of spammy backlinks.
The powerful methods of article marketing and guest blogging are very similar, and can build you both backlinks and far-reaching authority.

An increasingly powerful form of website promotion is related to search engine optimization, but has the potential to bring you traffic in droves without employing search marketing directly. Social media, like Facebook and Twitter, consists of constructing a network of people and keeping them engaged through proper interaction; such as updates, contests and prizes.

The usual stable of Google-respected methods still applies; be sure to apply for quality backlinks over quantity (the best of both worlds would be to get a large quantity of quality backlinks, which is best accomplished by writing brilliant, relevant posts). Also, guest blogging is a time-tested method that is highly respected by the search engine spiders that crawl your site, looking for cues on how high to rank it.

Running free webinars and question-and-answer sessions can have the effect of increasing your social network and extending your reach. Your website can become so visible that your social media campaign leaches into the domain of search engine optimization, with tweets and Facebook Business Page updates showing up in Google Search. When correctly and judiciously, these ranking factors have the potential to catapult your website from relative obscurity, to a leader In whatever industry or niche describes your product or service.

Why Internet Marketing Companies Approve of QR Codes

Target Corporation proclaimed this week that the retail leader is going to be adding QR (Quick Response) codes on toys and games this winter season in an attempt to wrestle Amazon and strongly encourage online orders (while inside the store). They plan to exhibit the season's very best 20 toys, each of which will sport a QR code that enables buyers to purchase them on the internet and have them shipped directly to their residence in order to avoid the hassle of any item being gone or inaccessible in the actual store.

Quick Response codes have become ever more well-known given that the use of smartphones and general consumer experience will continue to accelerate. A lot of these codes are prominent in print adverts, signs, television campaigns, and even t-shirts and a lot of other modes. Facebook a short time ago announced that 40% of its active end users, or four-hundred million people, presently employ mobile devices to access the website. Twitter states that one half of all access of its site stems from smartphones on the market. As a lot of people are on the go and more connected to their smartphones, how are you watching the rise of QR codes being employed with brand names?

Directly below, I am going to go over the Top Five Ways to Quick Response Code the correct way:

1. Be sure that getting a QR code is practical.

Before you actually jump on board the Quick Response code trend, guarantee that adding this modern technology to your advertising and marketing strategies fits with the promotional objectives.

2. Consider what method to work with.

Quick Response codes are certainly not tied to merely web-based subject matter. You can utilize codes for text, e-mail, contact information, videos, mobile-optimized landing pages, and so forth. Decide upon which method helps to make the most logic for your marketing, and supply a reason for the individual to check out the code. You must target creating a special consumer experience that they will only acquire via the QR code.

3. Take users to a specific area (that may be mobile enhanced).

Offer an incentive for visitors to scan the Quick Response code by bringing them to a (optimized) spot that they could very well not commonly discover. I propose a precise YouTube video that's only obtainable through the link within the code, or even a squeeze page. It is vastly crucial that you make sure that prospects experience an easy and superior encounter with your content, and rendering it mobile accessible is the step one.

4. Be sure that the link is trackable.

Utilize a totally free service like bit.ly, Google Analytics, or possibly a paid choice like Omniture to develop a distinctive link for your Quick Response code so you can easily evaluate how many consumers scan and view the code.

5. Test, test again, then test again!

After you make use of an application to develop a QR code, it is necessary to test the code via numerous applications and mobile systems to verify it is operating the right way. Keep clear of falling victim to the most familiar blunder in making use of Quick Response codes!

Last year, Heinz put Quick Response codes on ketchup containers in U.S. restaurants to advertise its new ecological packaging. When scanned, the code took consumers to a mobile web site where viewers can win payouts by giving answers to "earth-friendly" trivia questions.

Heinz documented that around a million customers looked at the codes.

QR codes have burst onto the scene in recent years. Most full service internet marketing companies can create a Quality Response code for your business.

How to Brand Your Arcade Website

Online flash arcade business is still a huge industry. Despite the introduction and penetration of other gaming platforms such as new console games (XBOX, Playstation, Wii), Mobile (Android and iOS) games and Facebook games, millions of visitors are still playing in online flash game arcades. Due to this huge demand, the presence of online arcades is also high. So the competition is tough and getting visitors to your arcade might be a really difficult task. But still there is a chance if you are able to brand your arcade well.

Once branded properly, you will be able to recruit, retain and regain gamers which will be very profitable. But it is not an easy task to do so. The ones who are able to do so become the big names in the online gaming industry. Addicting Games from MTV is one big example of highly branded, highly searched for and highly popular arcade.

To achieve similar fame is not that easy. I have prepared a following points to help anyone to brand their arcade:
Domain Name: The first thing to branding is the name of the product. The name of our arcade domain name should be properly chosen. Do not choose something too common, something hard to remember or something weird. Just get a simple domain name which is short, reflects the gaming industry, is easily memorable and is of a unique feel.
The Product: Your product which is your gaming site should be a strong one. Do not make it like one of those common arcades. Give it a unique and exclusive interface and make sure no one steals it. The script should be a customized script which has features unique to your site.
Mascot: An animated mascot can give you a lot of advantages. You can create a character which grabs the attention of your target audience and it helps them remember your arcade. Mascots can be featured in logos, games and social media.
Featured and Exclusive games: Try to gain ownership of games and then place your site name and logo in it. It may cost a big amount, but if you feature the right games and unique games your arcade might be on the lips of many gamers. The same is with exclusive games. If you have those games which are just found in your website and it guarantees fun, then you have some visitors just coming to your site for that particular game.
SEO, Advertising and Social Media Approach: Advertise your arcade well. Try to get your site in advertising programs such as Google AdSense to help you get more people. Optimize your site which helps it to rank well in search engines. The more visitors you get this way, the more the chances are that your site might be memorized by many. Social media presence is another way to get your visitors involved in your site via social networks.
Regular Updates: Updates are what keep your game site going. Try to update with new games and other content to get people to come back for more every time. This can help you brand your arcade as the one where fresh games are always there. Remember that content is king.
Member, Point and Reward System: These three systems sound quite promising. The member system helps to give the visitors a personal touch. They will be able to consider themselves as members of a site where they have a profile, an avatar and have earned certain points playing games. They will keep coming back for more. If you are also able to reward the visitors on the basis of the points they earn then it adds more to the benefits.
Get your members involved: Forums and blogs related to your arcade and present in your site should be a good way to get members involved. You can publish interesting news about your arcades and games in your arcade blog. Encourage visitors to post in your arcade forums by creating and participating interesting discussions.

All the above mentioned methods are only some of the ways which will help you to brand your arcade. So, try to be innovative and think of new ideas which will be helpful in branding your arcade portal.

To brand your arcade well, you must have a great domain name. Learn to choose a domain name for an arcade at our arcade webmaster blog Wolvyz.com.

Web Page Promotion: Do You Understand The Important Difference Between A Website And Web Pages?

To really understand the importance of web page promotion the first thing you need to understand is that Google and the other search engines index in their database and return in their search results web pages.

Please notice I said 'Web Pages' not 'Websites.'

This is important to understand as you can optimize each page of your website to get a better ranking in the search engines. While you do want to promote your website as a whole, proper web page promotion dictates that you also want to focus each individual page on your site to one specific keyword phrase.

To understand better the importance of web page promotion let's see how it would benefit some who just wants to get a website up and work a little to make some extra cash.

According to Google AdWords the keyword phrase "How To Train A Puppy" has a 150,000 plus searches in the united States with 225,000 plus searches worldwide. In my opinion this makes this keyword phrase a very competitive one.

Now go search for that keyword phrase, without quotation marks as most people do a search, and look at the first two pages of results returned from that search. You'll see that most of the results are web pages on a website in the form of 'domainname.com/webpage' and not just 'domainname.com' which would be a website itself. Understand the difference?

This is why long tail keywords are such a focus for use in web page promotion for the individual person looking to set up a website and make some money online. They can't really compete using the keyword phrase 'Dog Training' but with a less competitive phrase such as 'How To Crate Train A Dog' they have a much better chance at getting ranked high enough in the search engines that they will get some traffic from them.

Now ideally you'd like the keyword phrase in the domain name but you can't afford to buy a hundred domains and pay for hosting as well but you can take the individual pages of your website and optimize each of them to a specific keyword phrase. This is much more affordable and also gives you a website with a lot of content to make it 'sticky' meaning that people stay and browse your website for a few minutes, plus a lot of content normally means a lot of pages on your website.

Both of these are factors that the search engines use when giving value, and that means ranking, to your website and your web pages.

This is one of the reasons why a blog is such a popular type of website as it is ready made for good, individual web page promotion as each time you make a blog post it automatically creates a specific page for that particular post and you can learn how to easily optimize each page for the search engines.

So remember that properly using web page promotional techniques gives the little guy, or girl, a chance against the bigger players already established on the Internet.

Why Worry About SEO Copywriting When It Comes to Your Business

You might have heard this term tossed around: "SEO." This acronym stands for "search engine optimization," or "search engine optimized," and what it means to you and your business is invaluable. Why?

Without SEO, the search engines don't see you

SEO copywriting services give you the means to be seen by the search engines. They do that by providing keyword optimized copy for your website, as well as directory articles, blog posts, and other content related to your business. With SEO content, you can almost effortlessly market your goods and services throughout the Internet. The more optimized content you have distributed throughout the Internet, the more back links you have to your website; the more back links you have to your website, the more the search engines see you. When people go to a particular search engine and type in keywords relevant to your website, your site results will come up higher in search engine rankings and may also have more results throughout those rankings, again giving you greater visibility.

But be careful

There's a word of caution in regard to SEO copywriting, though. In years past, people could simply do what's called "keyword stuffing," meaning that they could simply stick gibberish up on their websites and place keywords hither and yon throughout that text. Because the search engines were not particularly sophisticated at that point, doing so often gave websites that weren't even legitimate lots of traffic and lots of money.

· You need the right keyword density

These days, search engines are really savvy. The content you write has to be peppered with just the right amount of keywords, with current percentages at about 1.5% keyword density. That means that for every 100 words in a particular piece of text, 1.5 of those words can be a keyword/keyword phrase.

· The content you write has to be interesting and informative

In addition, that content has to be interesting and informative, truly valuable to prospective clients. You can't just write anything as you might have been able to in years past and stick it up on your website, thinking that it will garner you traffic and therefore clients.

The copy has to be "clean"

A final important note about professional SEO copy is that it has to be clean. There should be no grammatical errors, spelling errors, etc. Professional SEO copywriting services know how to provide this content; when you turn your copywriting needs over to a professional SEO service, you can be sure the content you're going to get will attract traffic and interested prospective customers. With that, those prospective customers are much more likely to become actual customers.

Is your copy helping your online business, or hurting it? Tess Tackett offers unparalleled SEO content writing services including web pages, articles and more at SEO Content Connection. What Should a Business Owner Be Aware of When They First Start Out Promoting Their Website?

The first most important thing at all times is that you're not selling your website, you are sharing your website with your prospective clients and customers, which means that you are not trying to sell to the whole world but rather to a particular customer who has a need for your product or service. Many people think the more people who come to their website, the better.

Actually, that's not true. You need to define who your target audience is and who would be interested in buying the products or services from your business. This will have a great bearing on the style and layout of your website. It's more important than the total number of visitors.

It is very hard for a new business owner, or a business, that has an established presence that is not producing the sales they want to understand that it is not visitor volume but the quality of the visitor. They all think, "I want everyone to come and see my website." Well, not every visitor to your website is your target audience, so you really need to think about the way your website will appeal to the people who are your target audience.

Who is your Target Audience?

When someone comes to your website, whether it's through search engines or whether you left your URL as a signature on a comment on someone's blog or whatever, you want people who are in your target audience to instantly know that they are in the right place. So let me give you an example, I do a lot of book marketing because I have books. I look at many author's website and you come to the homepage, which is what the URL directs you to. You do not know whether it's a non-fiction book or a fiction book or what the book is about. That's very important because really, as authors, we want every visitor to buy and read our books, so really, our target audience is those people who like a particular genre of book or who need the information contained within a non-fiction book that we've written.

We don't want to frustrate people who come across or are referred to your website by the major search engines go, "Well wait a second, is that fiction, non-fiction, what is this about?" You want people to know instantly. This is fiction or non-fiction? This is what it's all about. And if it's non-fiction, these are the benefits you will get from reading this book.

They come to your website to find the information that they hope will provide answers to their questions. That is your target audience/ market why the design and layout of your website is important.

In a nutshell make sure that the information you wish to purvey to a potential client is the first thing they see. Don't just put anything on your website to fill the space and make up content. Make sure it's relevant to what the person is looking out for and helps solve the problem they have.

The most useless word is Welcome

They know that they're welcome. That's why you have a website. So the first headline that they come across should be something that tells the customer to take action or confirms to them that they are in the right place. They are here because you have a solution to their problem.

This should be contained above the fold, which means before you have to scroll down on your computer screen to see any more information. Most businesses absolutely shoot themselves in the foot with that very first-we call it real estate-and as soon as you come to the homepage at the very top, they have put some boring picture of like the factory, so they put to manufacturing something, the factory or a towering building that has nothing to do with their business, or a sun.

No, people do not come to your websites to look at those pictures. They come to find the information that they hope that you will provide them if they are in your target market.

The Basics of Web Site Promotion

Having a web site on the World Wide Web does not automatically grant you instant traffic without web site promotion. Just like in the offline world, you need to advertise and do some form of promotion to let people know more about your business and the services you offer. Without promotion, potential customers will not notice you and within a short time you will go out of business due to a lack of sales. The same is true in the online world as well, although both have different methods of promotion.

There are many types of web site promotion that you can use to attract web traffic to your site. You can devise a strategic Search Engine Marketing (SEM) plan that will draw paid traffic to your site. SEM can include Pay per Click (PPC), AdWords, Banner Exchanges, Banner Advertising and many others which all fall under the category of paid traffic. Another form of promotion known as Social Media Optimization (SMO) is basically the process of optimizing your site so that it can be easily linked to and shared across various social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, YouTube and many others. This allows you to spread your message even further to parts of the world at a pace so rapid that it beats traditional marketing hands down.

You can also use another form of web site promotion known as Search Engine Optimization (SEO). These techniques enable your site to rank highly on the search engine results page ( SERPs). Ultimately, you want your site to be ranked on the first page for keywords that your site is trying to target. This will allow you to attract traffic from organic searches to your site which is free. SEO can be both On Page and Off Page. On Page is where your web page contains the keywords you are trying to promote. Off Page is where links with your keywords point back to your web site. The only cost involved in getting your site to be ranked would be the cost spent on link building. One of the most important factors search engines use to evaluate your site's ranking is the number of incoming links that are pointed at your site. The more quality incoming links your site has, the higher it will rank on the Search Engine Results Page.

There are many other ways you can build links to your sites, including Article Submission, Video Submission, Social Bookmarking, commenting on blogs, creating forum profiles, or creating pages on HubPages.com or Squidoo.com. You could even go a step further by building a complete link wheel for your site. This means that you will not only build your first tier of links to your site but you will also build a second tier of links that are pointed to the first tier links. The whole point of link building is to get the search engines to recognize the importance of your site by the number of popular votes from other sites. This method alone can significantly boost your search engine rankings and help you beat your competition.

The only problem with link building is that it takes up a lot of your precious time and can distract you from your main focus on your business. Fortunately, there are various companies out there that specialize in link building and web site promotion. Depending on your budget, you could easily outsource the entire promotion and marketing of your site to a qualified SEO consulting company that will not only save you time but money as well.

Marketing Collaterals That Could Help

Small businesses usually limit their marketing collaterals to a brochure and a presentation, but today that is not enough. Clients wish to know a lot more on those they choose to do business with. The Internet has opened the opportunity to access and gain knowledge about any business and the players within. All at a touch of a button. So if a company really wanted to enter into a business relationship with you, they would first try to get to know you on-line.

On-line, the word has become part of everyday talk. The coming of Facebook and other social networking sites have got even kids registering and building a profile. That is how far the Internet has managed to stretch itself into our own homes, so its needless to say about how much of an influence it really is in an office structure.

Decisions are quick and informed and that's what businesses need to thrive. So a website that is poorly set up or a brochure that does on consist the required information is as good as a crumpled sheet of paper. Clients are looking out for more than just information on your products and a paragraph about you and your business. They want more. Here are some of the ideas that could be added to your repertoire of marketing strategies.

Capability Brochure - Clients need assurance, and a brochure that talks of one's capability to provide and perform could help. The word "Support" usually is a big winner with all clients and a capability brochure could help channel that idea forward.

Company History - In some cases old is good. In business the older, the more experienced, but not necessarily the best. Clients look out for business that have managed to stay in the race because, its them who are truly capable to meet the requirement. But there is still the "convincing the client bit". Just because your business has been established and you are aware of the ins and outs of the market does not mean clients need be impressed. A document that highlights your organization's history, a document that shows how you grew to be who you claim to be and how you changed, adapted and influenced the industry since the time of inception goes a long way.

Case Studies - These are the most effective marketing material. Granted, they are not the most interesting to read but the certainly are the most revealing. They provide your clients an opportunity to know how your team of experts are trained to deal with a problem. A case study could help build trust and more confidence in client on your capabilities to provide what you have promised.

Try implementing some of these if you have not already.

5 Effective Site Promotion Techniques

Do you want to promote your business over the Internet? Definitely there are dozens of ways that you can do it, but you should focus on the ones that are tried and tested to bring the best results. So do not worry because this article will be your guide to proper site promotion techniques.

First things first, it is important that you have your own website. Why? For the reason that people will surely want to learn more about your company and they would automatically look for your website. As much as possible get the.com version because it is the extension that quickly comes to mind for most people. And your website does not have to be flashy or extravagant. Just as long as you adequately present your business on your web pages will get the job done.

When you already have your own website learn how to properly optimize it for the search engines. However, keep in mind that you should not over optimize because it will greatly hurt your chances of getting a top ranking in the search engine results. You need to do keyword research, content creation, and on-page and off-page optimization. In case you find it too time consuming or hard, I suggest you simply hire an SEO services company to help you.

Find out where your target customers frequently go online and then advertise on that website. Get a graphic designer to help you create an attractive banner ad and then contact the site owner. Negotiate for the best price and make sure your advertisement will be posted on the specific web page where your prospective customers frequent.

Social media is king these days therefore it is important that you have a good social media marketing strategy. This is all about engaging with your customers and the public in general using such popular platforms like Twitter and Facebook. The best way to do this is by assigning this task to one of your employees, preferably someone with deep knowledge of how your business works including the variety of products and services you are offering.

Send out some press releases. Just like in the print media, you can also publish PR articles. Of course you should not expect that every website or publication that you submit to will be posting your article. The key here is you need a well-written and highly interesting write up. Get a press release writing service to write it for you if you are not a skilled writer yourself.

So there you go. These are four of the basic and yet very important site promotion tips that you should follow. It does take time to master all of them but believe me when I say that the rewards are truly worth it.

Local Business: How to Get More People to Your Website

The question that many businesses want to know is

"How do I get my website onto the first page of Google?"

The answer is usually one of two:

1. "Optimise your website using different SEO techniques to get it to the front of the queue"
2. "Get a Google AdWords account and start bidding!"

The problem with these two ways is that they will both cost you a bit of money. SEO is the best long term strategy for any business, but if you can't find a company to work with your budget you need to look for other options or attempt to do it yourself. Google AdWords is great for instant results, but with instant results comes instant cost and with these method traffic to your website will never be free and the more traffic you get the more money you will spend.

There is however a third way which won't work for all businesses, but if you are a local business focusing on a certain geographical area you can get your business on the first page by registering with Google Places.

How will it get me on the first page?

When you register with Google Places you have to state what your business is, the address, key words and all the usual information when you are adding your business to any directory.

Now, when someone searches for a business they may want a local business in which case they would type the business and the location, for example "car mechanic in Bath". When someone types in a search request such as this Google recognises that they are looking for a local business and display the first page results in 3 sections:

1. Google AdWords

2. Google Places

3. Organic search results

There still may be a bit of competition to be on the front page with Google Places so make your your website is in good order with the correct SEO and get a few clients to give you a review to help boost your rankings. What have done though just by registering is fended off all the millions of websites that you are competing with in the organic results!

Be Warned...

So as not to allow Google Places to be abused you will have to confirm your address details with Google by entering a unique key code they will send you and this usually takes a few weeks, but it will be well worth the wait.

How do I register?

You can register with Google Places by going to http://www.google.com/places/

To improve your websites rankings in all the major search engines you can use "Plum Web Design & Marketing" They are a SEO Company in Surrey who also provide Web Design services for small and medium size businesses.

Website Marketing - Is Your Website Generating New Business For You?

Is your website your primary marketing channel?

If so ask yourself this question "Is it delivering new leads and enquiries on a regular basis?"

There are two key elements involved here.
1. Is your website being found by customers looking for what you sell.
2. Is your website converting those visitors into enquiries?

If you don't know the answer to this second question, a quick look at your Google Analytics should answer the question.

You do have Google Analytics installed don't you?

If your website is generating traffic but not converting, whoever created your website may not have thought sufficiently about the content and may have been more concerned with the appearance.

This process is flawed.

The design of your website should be the last stage in the process. You should start by asking a number of key questions.

1. Who is your website aimed at - who are they, what are they like and what style of website will they react best to?
2. What are your objectives - do you want your visitors to pick up the phone or email you, or do you want them to leave their contact details. Perhaps your website is primarily there to give your business credibility.
3. Having visited your site what action do you want visitors to take - because whatever it is you will need to tell them.
4. What is your strategy - what is your strategy for turning visitors into database contacts or sales leads? Are you using testimonials effectively? What about video?

Having asked these basic questions, you should then go on to look at the proposition you are making to your visitors.

Remember you have about 8 seconds to grab your visitors' attention otherwise they'll click away.

They're not interested in you

Also remember they're not interested in you or your business.
The only thing they are interested in is what you can do for them. Can you solve their problem?

So your first line of text had better tell them what you do and not just from your point of view but more importantly from theirs.
For example if you were a servicing garage, your first line might say:

"We service, repair and provide MOTs for all makes of car".

But what the customer really wants you to provide is the security and peace of mind that their car is roadworthy and won't break down on them.

So your second sentence had better tell them that.

It's all about taking action

We will then look at the kind of points that will make your visitors take action.

What makes you stand out from your competitors - what is there that makes you the right choice for me?Do you offer a guarantee and so remove the risk for me to trade with you?Do you offer a free taster so that I can trial what you offer without it costing me anything? What benefits do you offer me that your competitors don't?

Only when you've answered all these questions and have a genuinely compelling proposition should you start planning what pages your website should have and how the navigation should work.
Following that you're finally ready to put pen to paper and start writing the words.

But we're not going to write great screeds to text. People don't consume websites in that way.

They skim.

For this reason you need short, sharp sentences, bulleted lists and clearly differentiated sections. Large blocks of text will have them clicking away faster than a fast thing.

So if you take all these points on board you should have website content that will appeal to your target audience and copy that will motivate them to take action.

Classifieds Advertising - Best Practices

Online advertising is no longer a fad; it is here to stay. Not just that, internet promotion has branched out into a wide array of options. Search marketing (PPC), banner advertising, video marketing, social media and online classifieds advertising.

Classifieds sites make a different breed of marketing. Interestingly, they have gained their popularity not because they are casual online flea markets. But mainly because of their attraction as a form of social media. They have succeeded in building online communities around them where users like to engage socially. Few people realize that we check classifieds sites more out of curiosity than anything else. We enjoy them because we love to know what the neighbors are up to through their ad posting, selling and buying. Moving sales ads have become our local news of who is moving. Then there is the "deal" attraction part of it. We unconsciouly believe that any purchase from an online classifieds site is a "deal". And many times, it is. But even if we pay the "Sears" price for it, we will still be convinced we snatched a deal.

Online classifieds advertising is gradually becoming the leading wagon in web marketing. It is expected to be even more popular as the rate of human interaction over the internet is breaking an all-time record. But for classifieds advertising to work, certain steps must be followed. First Things First.

Have a plan

It is important to lay down a plan before you get started. It could be as basic as a list of goals you want to accomplish. For example, driving an extra 100 visitors to your website per month from classifieds sites or a particular classified site. Such plan will allow you to review and evaluate what has been accomplished, what worked and what did not. The results of such evaluation will enable you to adjust your advertising strategy going forward.

Make a list

You will need this both to avoid random ad posting and to track your campaign's performance. Some sites are worthy of your time and some aren't. Here are some tips:

Exclude spam-ridden sites that allow cheap ads and postings from outside the country.Only select local sites that have built an online community around them. These are usually dominated by local listings. Local is best. If you're targeting visitors from the US, there is no point posting ads in a classifieds site in India. If the site contains business listings in your industry, it is a good enough place to have yours listed there, too. Do not dwell too much on the site's popularity or number of listings. Smaller sites have their advantages, too. One of them, your ad will enjoy longer visibility. After all, even one or two clients can be a valuable acquisition to your business.

Follow site rules

Reading the Terms of Service(TOS) and the Frequently asked questions (FAQ) is a good time investment. You may inadvertently find yourself violating them. Some common rules to bear in mind:

Do not cross post. Always post to the right category and local demographics.Do not overpost. Two ads per day is a safe bet.Do not post same ad over and over (or with a slight variation).

Create Ad and Test it

Do you remember when your first posted your ad on CL late at night, then went to bed? What were you thinking?

Let me guess!

You were overjoyed and could not wait to wake up the next morning to find customers have flocked to your offer. And at least hundreds of queued orders placed overnight waiting for you to process.

Not so generously!

Not matter how awesome and affordable is the product or service, prospects still need to be fairly convinced. In this time of economic recession and fierce competition, your offer needs to be extra attractive. This is where ad copy writing comes into play. Here are some ad copy writing basics.

Narrow down your ad's demographics.Write your ad in plain english and keep it consize. Your ad should clearly define your offer.Make your ad's headline stand out. Pick words that convey an appealing message. Only great headlines can get you those good and targeted visitors.Make your ad search engine friendly. Think of what words or phrases users use to search for similar offers. You need to include at least some of them. A successful ad is one that strikes a balance between a catchy headline and a searchable one.In the body of your ad, try and relate to what might motivate the buyer into purchase. Whatever motivation they have, try to relate to it. Whether it's a problem and how you solved it. Or a goal and how you achieved it. Story telling is a powerful marketing technique.Ensure your ad works by testing it. Don't settle on the first draft. Keep tweaking it till it works.

A free online ad is an effective, faster and cheaper way to test for a paid one (i.e AdWords PPC) or an offline advert(newspapers). What works online will work perfectly on print advertising.

Keep doing it.

Classified advertising works better as a long-term campaign. Continued exposure = Continued visibility. Repeated advertising will also help the message stick in your oblivious prospect's mind.

Scenario 1:

Am passionate about your stuff that you posted for sale on Monday evening. But since I only check my local classifieds site Friday morning, I did not see your ad. If you keep posting regularly, you increase the chances of me spotting your offer. That simple.

Scenario 2:

I did see your offer on Friday morning but I did not care about it. Seeing the same offer in the same section repeatedly will eventually prompt me to check it out(at least out of curiosity).

Track ad performance

There is no point keeping on promoting a certain product that did not sell(Assuming you've done things right). Something needs to be changed. May be the price, the packaging, service guarantees, etc. May be a certain site did not bring any leads and needs to be dropped from the list. Consider this only if time is an issue as sites are dynamic entities that rise and drop in performance. Also make sure you have used it for an enough time period to be able to judge its performance.

But how do you track this?

There are various tracking methods you can use to calculate the return of your advertisements. You can track by using a unique coupon code on each advert posted or a site-specific one. You can also include a URL identifier.

Some Great Methods to Promote Your Site

Even though your site has a beautiful design and high quality content, but if there is no visitor, your site is useless. If you are an online business person and there is no one visiting your site, you may end up in ruin. To avoid this terrible thing to happen, you need to promote your website. It should not be denied that site promotion is a little bit hard task to accomplish. But if you succeed, many benefits await you. Below are some excellent methods to promote your website.

Social Networking

These days, there are many social networking sites to help you market your website. One of the most popular sites is Facebook. This social media website has millions of users. You can create an account on Facebook and then start adding friends. You know, many small online businesses become huge businesses because of the help of Facebook. On Facebook, you can meet thousands of potential customers. Twitter is another popular social networking site that may also help you promote your website. These two sites do not charge you any fee.

Posting on Other Websites

Guest posting is one of the greatest methods to boost your traffic. You can start selecting some websites that are relevant to your website. The next step you should take is to contact the website owners or administrators to find out whether or not you can publish your articles there. After that, you need to write original and quality articles. These articles play a significant role in driving traffic to your site. That is why it is necessary for you to make relevant articles. You can put a link that lead people to your own site at the bottom of every article you publish.

Using SEO Content Writers To Improve Your Internet Exposure

In the world of business, online marketing is becoming increasingly important to a successful campaign as more and more consumers go to the internet for information about products and services. Many companies are finding that one of the most profitable ways to improve online marketing strategies is to hire an SEO content writer. Doing the same could be good for your business as well.

Before delving into a few reasons why, it helps to understand what SEO means and how it functions. SEO stands for search engine optimization. As the name implies, content geared towards SEO can improve the way search engines find and display your website. Search engines basically function by regularly scouring the internet and indexing the information they find. Then, when someone enters search terms into the engine, it will try and match the terms with sites it has indexed. The search results usually show up as a list, with the best matches at the top. Results further down the list do not match the search parameters as well as the matches at the top of the list. Where a site places on a results list can be referred to as its ranking.

As you may imagine and have probably experienced, many searches come up with thousands of results that can span hundreds of pages. For many consumers it is often unrealistic to look at every page. Thus, the sites with the best rankings tend to be the most viewed, resulting in more site traffic for higher ranking sites. More traffic also often translates into more customers and opportunities for revenue. So the question becomes, how does a site get a high ranking? One of the answers is through search engine optimization.

SEO content works because it is tailored to match the functions of search engines, which grow more sophisticated every year. As they comb the internet, many engines differentiate sites based on the information they provide and whether or not the engines deems the site as spam. Sites viewed as spam normally have much lower rankings than other sites and so are viewed less often. To avoid being labeled as spam, sites must usually conform to certain standards. An SEO content writer is likely to be familiar with these guidelines and can provide you with articles and other content that will increase your internet visibility (by improving your rankings), which can help you find more customers.

As you come to understand more about search engine optimization, you may see that there are multiple benefits to hiring an SEO content writer, so shop around and see if this business solution isn't right for you.

Use an SEO content writer to spruce up your content. By using an SEO content writer, you can keep your website content fresh and up to date.

Editing Your Landing Pages

The Web Page

It's easy to think that writing for your webpage is like writing for anything else, but it's not: it's very different. You need to build a style that holds your visitor, and you've only go about six seconds to do it!

Impact

Well that's the first point. 'Web-surfers' follow-up their Google search for your product will be flicking through the sites. They either see what they want or move on, one site every six or so seconds, that's how long you have to catch their attention.

The Fold

The expression comes from the old style broadsheet newspapers. They were folded in half across the page and the passer-by could see the banner, the headline and not much else. That part of the page was 'above the fold' the rest of the front page was 'below the fold'.

The news items were set to ensure that the most important headlines were 'above the fold'.

On a webpage 'above the fold' means the bit of a webpage the visitor sees as he or she lands on the page; the bit that can be seen without scrolling down.

Headlines

Part of the impact issue: Headlines have the power to catch your reader's eye. Use them.

Blocks of Text

Big blocks of text are very off-putting for the 'web-surfer': keep them short on your landing pages, no more than three or four lines long. Dense material should be kept off the front page with links from an introductory 'teaser'.

Use a journalistic style - no working up to the punch line. Hit them between the eyes with the very first sentence. In the reverse of normal writing the first sentence should be a summary of the rest of the text.

150-200 words is more than enough to show above the fold. Make sure they work for you.

Eye Candy

You might think pictures a waste of valuable 'above the fold' real estate, but you'd be wrong. The right picture summing up the ethos of your site can be worth a thousand words.

Be Direct: Be Focussed

Going back to our first sentence, you have perhaps six seconds to deliver your message. Be direct, be focussed, remove anything - word, sentence, paragraph, page - that doesn't deliver your message.

Don't waste real estate welcoming your visitors, they know they are welcome; they don't need to be told.

Don't make your visitor have to think, he hasn't got time. Make your links clear and visible, place them where he can see them.

QR Codes for Marketing

QR stands for "quick response". A QR code is a trackable 2D matrix barcode that can be read by camera equipped Smartphones with the use of a simple QR app reader which can be downloaded for free. The QR reader decodes the code and the mobile user is instantly sent to a website, landing page, video, or social networking page.

QR codes allow mobile users to interact with their environment 24/7. A QR code can be placed just about anywhere, from printed advertisements in newspapers, to yard signs, business cards, t-shirts, or point of sale displays, just to name a few.

QR codes were invented by a Toyota subsidiary in Japan as a tracking device for the car manufacturing industry. While they have been popular in Japan for several years they have finally made their way to the US where they are now becoming more familiar and more popular. Large as well as small businesses are beginning to use these codes to engage mobile users.

Today Smartphones are driving mobile use so using QR codes in your marketing plan is a smart idea. It offers businesses the opportunity to instantly connect with millions of mobile users. The code insures instant access to the marketing message of the business owner's choice. With these advanced barcodes a business can promote unique product features, allow customers to make online purchases quickly at any time of day or night, gather useful consumer data, strengthen b2c relationships, provide exclusive offers, or even notify consumers of time-sensitive information.

A QR code is easy to create. It can link back to any webpage you want it to by converting a standard URL into a square-shaped code. Once the code has been created the image file can be downloaded and attached to emails, Facebook profiles, or printed on just about anything.

Some considerations to make when creating a QR code include:

The code needs to be big enough for a user to see it, at least 1" x 1" in size. The landing page of the code needs to be mobile-friendly so the user can read the site content.Preferred channels for reaching your target audience need to be researched.Code testing needs to be performed before launching a campaign or distributing the code.

QR codes are easy to create and easy to use, they are fun and different and offer extra lines of communication between customers and companies. With more Americans actively using their cell phones and more of those phones become Smartphones people will be interested in trying out this new internet marketing idea.

Social Media Marketing, or SMM, is a word of mouth internet marketing [http://www.stlouiswebmarketing.com/] tool and QR codes are a part of that.

Is Your Local Business Google Compatible?

Let me say though that the trends in this art form change regularly. What was once fantastic a few months ago may be considered absolute junk today. The reason for this is that search engines and the big dog, Google, are always trying to bring more relevant results to people that are searching for answers.

Google AdSense - Google does this by changing the way its huge computer systems rank and organize websites. It has to do this because so many people and companies are always trying to game the system. In other words they're trying to fool the search engine into thinking that one website should be ranked higher than another.

This is especially important if you are a local business with a local customer base. Online advertising is not going to do you a bit of good if your ads don't show up in front of potential local customers. Understanding how to make this happen is full-time work for many businesses. In many years of watching Google work and watching advertisers try to work Google, I've come to a pretty simple conclusion. Stop trying to fool the system and answer the customer's question!

If you read any of my other articles or blog posts you will see that I place a great deal of emphasis on delivering answers to the customers before they even ask the question. If you can do this and do it online, you will never have to be worried about being bumped 10 pages down in Google search results.

I have a customer that bought into the promise of we will make your business number 1, 2, or three in Google search results! Anyone that tells you this is blatantly full of you know what. That is why we stress the concept of consultant marketing. By advertising in a way similar to a consultant, a business can easily build an expert reputation locally.

I often get the question, how can I possibly be a consultant in my business? I run a local doughnut shop and they aren't exactly beating the door down for advice on making doughnuts.it is true there may not be a large market for people who want to make doughnuts, but if you limit yourself to thinking this way you'll never succeed in creating the expert mindset you need your customers to have. After all doughnuts or pastries are baked goods and people do banking. Move up in the niche chain and maybe become more generalized and offer advice articles and other information on making the best baked goods you can.

On the other hand, you may want to drill down inside of the niche and focus on specialty doughnuts. You might be able to convince customers that decorating doughnuts for parties and other get-togethers is a pretty cool thing to do. In addition, your shop can add to it services by offering decorating kits to people who might like to do this. It would also be a fun pastime for children at different times of the year. What better way to keep children occupied during the party than to have them decorate their own snack.

Of course this might sound crazy to some but the point of what I'm saying is not a hypothetical example I'm giving above. The idea is to think outside the box. Why do people buy donuts? What questions do people have before they buy donuts? If you can make a list of about 20 questions that your customers ask you most frequently and answer those in at least three different ways you are well on your way to success.

The truth is, if you are able to answer these questions before the customers ask them you have a leg up on Google that can never be trumped. The reason is, is that people type these questions into Google in order to find an answer. And the situation above, you may find that there is a large market for people looking to decorate doughnuts for all types of special occasions.

In this case it's actually possible to spread your expertise beyond your local area. This can be a huge benefit. If the customer sees that you write, blog, create articles, e-books, or videos on doing this exact thing, then the perceived value that you offer them as an expert skyrockets.

As Google seeks to provide more relevant content to its users, it will eventually figure out most of the games that people play in order to rank their websites higher. A few things are not likely to change in the ranking order. Relevant content should always rise to the top. Not Copied content or irrelevant content or any tricks. The second thing to understand is that climbing through the ranks of Google simply takes time. You didn't build your business in the day and you're not likely to rise to the top of the search engines in the day either.

You can be sure of one thing though, if you continue to add relevant content based upon the questions your customers routinely ask and seek to perfect that information and distributed it through his many means as possible, you simply cannot fail.

No matter what Google does, these actions are in line with what Google seeks to do and you will eventually ferret out the wheat from chaff and your website and your business will climb to the top. The secret is relevance, consistency, and patience. If you practice the simple techniques you will never be left behind.

Tips on Getting High Converting Traffic to an Income Generating Website

A lot of people new to the online income niche believe that bringing a huge volume of traffic to a website virtually guarantees that it will make money. So they often end up paying for ads to be blasted out to thousands using various mass submission tools. This is a bad strategy. Apart from the fact that many such tools don't get anywhere near the kind of visitor numbers they say they do, the traffic that they do attract is generally poor quality.

Like with so many things in life quality -- not quantity -- is the thing to aim for here. And surely the best quality traffic still comes from Google. People do really trust this search engine in particular, and others to a lesser but still significant degree. They figure that you know what you're on about if your site appears on page one for what they're searching for. And if they trust you, they are more likely to buy from you.

It doesn't matter if you're not ranking for juicy one and two word phrases since multi-word "long tail" keywords can still do very nicely. These are generally not extremely difficult to rank for and often convert pretty well since they are very specific.

It also helps if you can attract searchers who are more likely to be in a buying mood. They tend to type in phrases that include adjectives like "best," "finest," "cheapest," "bargain," "quality," and "recommended."

That's why you should include such keywords in your pages where appropriate as well as using them in your anchor text when building links to them. As you slowly start to get onto page one for such long tail keyword searches, you should see a marked improvement in your conversions.

This can be easier said than done -- particularly if you are in an extremely competitive niche where people have been competing over many keywords for years. That said, it's certainly not an impossible task and you only need a few of them to start bearing fruit and it will help a lot.

Social media should be remembered as well. Twitter in particular is great for getting highly targeted clicks to a website. The key is in tweeting in a specific and informative way and interacting often with other tweeps in your niche. Do this and you will inevitably build a solid following of people who share your interests.

Not only does Twitter have high click-through rates, but Google takes into account the links that you -- and in particular other tweeps -- build to your website from it. A lot of them is sure to help your search engine rankings to some degree.

There's another aspect of targeting that can improve conversions. That's the geographic aspect. Logic dictates that if you make your off-page and on-page SEO quite geo-specific, you will slowly draw a much higher proportion of website visitors from your country. If you offer products and services that are also tailored to that nation your proportion of sales will inevitably improve.

And you don't have to restrict your marketing to online techniques to get this effect. Offline marketing using methods such as flyers, posters, newspaper ads and business cards is always geo-specific for obvious reasons.

As well as drawing good quality and highly localized traffic, offline promotion can also help a little with SEO. This is because Google is recording the geographic location of all these visitors, as well as their behavior on your site. The search engine uses this information in its calculation of the site's value when searchers type in keywords related to its content.

If you apply the approaches listed above when promoting your website, you will slowly but surely improve the quality of the traffic that you are drawing to it. With proportionally more targeted visitors reading your pages, more of them will result in sales and your online income is sure to improve.

Cutting Cost in Promoting Your Business On the Internet

Marketing and promoting your business on the internet is way cheaper than putting up an ad on TV or a billboard along the highway. Indeed, it is! You can advertise for as low as $5 but you can't do that with a TV or billboard ad. Factor in how many times you want to flash your ad on TV- you surely need a lot of monetary resources to do that. You can even lose your entire bankroll to pay for the airtime.

However, even though it is a lot cheaper to advertise online compared to the conventional advertising strategies, it can still cost you a lot of money if you are not keen and careful with your online advertising strategies. One wrong keyword choice and you can plunge into a costly and inefficient marketing strategy.

But aside from the generally cheaper cost of promoting your business on the internet, there are still cost-efficient ways to cut cost in online promotion and marketing. Read on to find out how.

Invest on free but effective way to promote your business online.

How?

There's social network marketing. Social networks are taking over the internet these days. Not just for individual use, businesses have also brought their business to their social networks, hoping to connect to their target market.

Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus- it's free to sign up and yet, they are among the best and fastest ways to connect to the right people who need your products and services.

Article Marketing - it is free to share information to online readers through informative and valuable articles, and in return, you can build links to your website for free. You may not be allowed to do some promotional talk on your article, but they are good vehicles to build your credibility, to let your expertise be known and to promote your website through the resource box. With good articles, you can promote your website cost-effectively and benefit from it in the long run. For as long as your articles are live online, you can expect it at least bring in traffic to your site for a long time.

Invest on a good and optimized website

SEO. Search engine optimization. You may have heard about it and seen these letters often on the web. That's because SEO is an important element to be able to launch your business marketing effectively online. Remember that promoting your business online is still about making your business visible to your market and the best way to do that is to make your website visible to the top of the search engine rankings. You can do that with proper SEO practices.

Without the right optimization practices, you might end up depleting your resources in costly advertising strategies.

Have a quality, web content. The 'meat' of your website is your content as it tells all about your business and what you do and what you offer. It is also tells the search engines that you do have a valuable website that they need to pick up and index thus, invest in top-notch, search engine optimized web content. Even if you have the highest traffic coming in to your site, you may find it hard to convert this into sales if you have poor web content. This is one big challenge in marketing and promoting your business on the internet as well.

Opt for an easy to use website. Convenience is a major deciding factor for many people these days, and in the online world, most people, if not all, love the instant, one-click-show-all features, thus aim to give your target audience a website that loads quick and something that is professionally designed, appealing to the eye and easy to navigate and read.

Outsource your marketing tasks

Social media, article marketing and search engine optimization can be your keys to promoting your business online but they can be time-consuming. That's a fact. You can write your web content but you surely can't devote your time writing new and fresh quality web content regularly.

Article marketing is not a one-shot deal. You also have to send out new articles every now and then. Social media needs updating and needs to be up-to-date and with regular activity or else, you won't get a good following.

One solution to cut costs and save time in doing these tasks is the big O- Outsource. It has been one of the most practical and wisest things you can do when it comes to having these tasks done regularly and up-to-date. With people taking care of these things for you, you can set your time focusing on the goals of your business and refining and redefining your business strategies.

But one thing to keep in mind: Outsource to the right people! This will help you avoid wasting valuable time and resources and will help you in a systematic way of promoting your business on the internet.

Important Traffic Generation Tips for Your Website

A person creates a website to generate maximum traffic to his page. If this goal is not met, then there is no point in creating a website. If you have put up a great website online and it still does not generate traffic to match up to your expectations, then something is clearly wrong. So here are some tips which will ensure that you get enough traffic for your website.

The first thing which you must do is get your website search engine optimized by a professional. He will include the keywords which match to your website's content on your website. Keywords are basically those search terms which people enter most frequently while searching for something. Once this is done, you will see a significant increase in your website's traffic. Sometimes the person may include certain keywords which are not related to your website at all. These keywords include the names of famous celebrities. There will be a casual reference to these celebrities, but it will ensure that traffic is generated to your website.

The next thing which you can do is blog. Blogging is the best way to generate traffic to your website. Write on topics which are related to your website. All your articles must be sensible and of top quality. Do not copy paste information as people hate those who cheat and copy. They need true first hand information. In the end, provide a link to your website. There are great chances that people will click on it and pay your website a visit.

You should also use back linking to generate traffic to your website. You should search for websites with content similar to yours. You can post a comment over there, along with a link to your very own website. Many a times, people click on these back links and visit the website. You can post back links on blogs too. But you must ensure that you post some sensible comment. Otherwise your comment will be marked as spam and will be deleted. Do just leave the link to your website on random blogs. Use back linking sparingly and wisely.

You must sign up and create an account on a local forum which is related to your website or your business for that matter. Write a brief description about yourself, the work you do and leave the link of your website. Many people do tend to visit these forums frequently in a bid to get some important information. There are high chances that people may spot your article and visit your website. You must ensure that your content is not copied from somewhere and it is authentic. Make the content interesting to grab maximum eyeballs. The more the people view your post, the more people might end up actually visiting your website.

So these are some of the simplest things which you can do in order to increase the traffic on your website. Follow them and you will see the results with your own eyes in a few week's time.

What Is A QR Code And Why Should I Care?

Many of you would be surprised to know that this "cutting edge" technology we're exploring - Quick Response (QR) codes - was actually invented in Japan almost 20 years ago. Denso Wave Inc., a subsidiary of Japanese car company Toyota, created this digital device to track vehicles during the manufacturing process.

QR codes are simply a two-dimensional bar code that is encoded with information. They are a lot like the traditional bar codes you see on the sides of cans and other products but they contain 100 times more information.

A user can scan the code with a camera phone and access a tremendous amount of information, either directly from the code or by being linked to an information source like a website.

The two-dimensional nature of these codes means that they have a greater surface area allowing them to hold thousands of alphanumeric characters that can accommodate web URLs, text or other information like photos, videos, graphics and more.

QR codes can even dial a number or generate text messages! It's like having the ability to control your prospective customer's smart phone almost anywhere in the world!!

Now that you know the technical aspects of what a QR code is, you will need to learn the most important aspect of QR codes... the use of this tool as an effective marketing tactic.

QR Codes: A Marketing Tactic

One of the great misconceptions about the secret to business success is the belief that once you have a fantastic product or service to sell your work is done.

Sure, it's important to have something your market needs, but that's just the beginning. You have to find a way to make that information known to the types of customers who really want what you're selling.

This may sound simple enough but connecting with your target customer is actually one of the biggest challenges that you will have and will definitely take up a lion's share of your time and efforts.

Here's why it's so difficult to be heard and noticed in the marketplace: There are millions of people, just like you, directing their messages and promotions at your potential customer.

Of course, you too are a target customer for those companies that create marketing products, so you should be able to identify. With that said, you need to find a way to cut through all that noise and clutter.

This article is about a marketing product called a QR code. But there are many other marketing products from which you will choose as part of your marketing arsenal. The challenge again is determining what you will use.

This section will show you why QR codes should be among the tools you pull from your marketing toolkit to get in front of your target market.

Here is why QR codes are a good choice for the business marketer: They work! Consumers are responding to the scan codes they see and taking action to get more information about products/services promoted by these codes. According to the market research firm comScore, there are 20.1 million mobile phone owners in the U.S. and two-thirds of that group is scanning QR codes to learn more about a product.

The Usefelness of Udemy

What, I know you're asking, is a Udemy (pronounced you-duh-mee)? Actually, if you are a relationship marketer (and if you're an online marketer, you are a relationship marketer), it can be nothing short of a Godsend. To make short of a very long answer, Udemy is an online teaching platform that is open to anyone who wants to teach something that they think others might want to learn. If you have a level of expertise in an area, you can create a few instructional videos, PowerPoint presentations; PDF's or even audio files and upload them. Poof, you now have a sellable course!

Online learning is a hot market, and luminaries such as Mark Zuckerberg and Harvard professor Robert Allison have jumped on the Udemy bandwagon, offering courses (Zuckerberg's is even FREE). The reason is simple; the people that run Udemy actively promote courses for their "professors" on venues such as Facebook, even offering promotions and discounts to bolster flagging sales. There is even a built-in affiliate program, offering 50% commissions for those who promote courses taught on the Udemy framework; a caveat is that this option is not available immediately for all courses, and the teacher has to apply for his course to become part of the affiliate network.

What this means for internet marketers is the ability to sell their own products without having the expense of web hosting and maintenance, site design and the other ancillary costs affiliated with online product sales. Simply fill out your profile, design your course, upload your material, apply to sell, set your price, and you're done! It really is a simple interface, and they kindly offer a free video course to teach you how to properly use it. If your sales are flagging, they'll even email you with advice on proven ways to make your promotions more effective.

The beautiful part of Udemy is its social branding component. Each course listing contains the name and picture of its instructor, and when a potential student clicks for more information, the instructor's profile is listed along with the course description. Students can recommend favored courses to their Facebook and Twitter profiles, and both students and professors can be followed from within the course's home page, creating the possibilities of cross sales coming from students who have friended students in other courses. One of Udemy's claims is that they make their top instructor's famous, and they aim to deliver.

So, if you have a bunch of related PLR videos and eBooks lying around, reconstitute them (re-record the videos in your own voice, give the eBooks new covers), add a little something extra (mindmaps, audios, etc.), and get to building a course. Give a couple away for free to build a following, and you'll soon Udemy your way to the bank.

Habitual Website Behaviour Will Help You Succeed

How do Olympic athletes succeed? Sports psychologists, of course, will tell you that the difference between competing and winning gold is all in the mind. Nutritionists would beg to differ, no doubt, saying it is more to do with the right kind of diet. Meanwhile, coaches will say it is about the mix of training. But probably, more than anything, it is about habit formation. The reason people are even good enough to enter the Olympics is because they train every day. Rowers get up at 5am each day to be on the river at first light. Swimmers are in the pool before it is open to the public. Athletes run to the gym before you have woken up.

They do this automatically; it is not a conscious, thought-out process. Indeed, the daily routine at the gym the rowing down the river or the endless lengths in the pool are habits. The difference between truly successful athletes and the rest of us is the fact that the medal winners habitually do all the right things to succeed.

You can see this outside of sport, of course. The best surgeons don't have to think about how they hold the scalpel - it is a habit. Similarly, the greatest inventors don't occasionally come up with ideas, it is a daily habit. And the best sales people cannot stop selling, they habitually sell, sell, sell.

Online we also exhibit habitual behaviour. When did you last make a conscious decision as to the most appropriate search engine or tool for finding our what you wanted to know, or did you just go straight to Google? When did you last make a conscious decision as to the best way to contact your friends, or did you just go straight to Facebook?  When did you last make a conscious decision about where to buy that book, or did you go straight to Amazon? The common feature between these sites is that they have become habits.

Habits are behaviours you do repeatedly without conscious thought. Not all habits, of course, are good; smoking is a disease causing habit, driving with one hand on the wheel is a danger-laden habit and eating cream cakes every day is a life-threatening habit. But some habits are good; getting up at 5am to row down the river keeps you healthy, going to bed at the same time each night and getting plenty of sleep reduces stress and giving your partner a present every week just for being them helps prolong relationships. When we hear the word "habit" we often associate it negatively, but we don't have to; good habits are valuable.

So, the habit of using Facebook for social interaction is good - you keep in touch with people more often than you would otherwise and the extra social contact has stress-reducing effects on you. Similarly, the habit of buying books on Amazon is also a potential good habit because it stops millions of people driving their cars to bookshops, saving them time, money and impact on the environment.

If you are a website owner, what is the habit that your visitors engage in? Indeed, is your website a habit for people? If not, then you are much less likely to succeed. A website that is a habit is amongst the medal winners, whereas a website that only every now and then gets visitors is rather like the amateur sports person.

How long though does it take to form a habit amongst your visitors? You will read plenty of information which suggests a habit is something that takes 14 days to produce. However, research on the formation of habits shows that it takes an average of 66 days. There is also tremendous variation in habit forming, with some people needing around eight months of daily, continual behaviour before it forms an automated habit.

If your website does not promoted habitual behaviour, though, you are much less likely to gain the levels of success you want. So what habit do you want to form in your readers? Focus on that and you will do well.
